A little about me...
My love of drawing, making and creating started from the highchair where I drew a pair of glasses in perfect perspective...so my mother claims. From that day forward my parents were my biggest fans in all my artistic endeavors, no matter what they were...and still are. As long as I can remember I knew I wanted to be an artist. I learned about commercial art (now called graphic design) when I was in middle school and that's when my career decision was made.
I am a self-proclaimed paper whore(der) and I blame my late uncle. But let me explain! He was the vice president of southeast sales for a large paper company back in the day, and gave me boxes of their paper samples. All colors, textures, sheens. You name it. It was in those boxes. This is where my love of all things paper began. I was exposed to papers most kids have never seen and a seed was planted in my young heart.
My love of art and graphic design background makes a perfect marriage of media to create cards and art prints for others to enjoy
I also make laser cut designs from beautiful exotic hardwoods such as purple heart, wenge, padauk as well as other materials. From jewelry to personalized cutting boards, framed paper flowers, etched plates, monoprints and eco prints, to cards there is a gift for nearly everyone on your list.
In the past, and hopefully again the not so distant future, I dabbled in enamel jewelry for a bit and LOVED it. So many things I want to create but more hours in a day is something I am not capable of making. So in the meantime, graphic design, laser engraving/cutting and card making it is! I have a background in graphic design and that's been my day job for the last (cough) 30-some years. Making physical items that are fun and beautiful is my "other" creative outlet.
